It's been 3 wks since I've landed in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave (quoting the Star Spangled Banner:P).
In a nutshell, the first few days were spent busying myself with touring the vet fac, Midwest Games, going places and manning the UPM career fair booth with Prof Aini, setting up my bank acc, settling my health insurance, getting my PUID (finally!!!) and ultimately settling in and trying my best to get into a little routine into my life.
It's been hectic with all the running around. No more car that I can easily drive around and go to the malls or to the gym or to meet frens. I gotta walk walk and walk.
Shopping in US is pretty great tho esp when their on sale. Got some pretty neat stuff like CK Jeans for $16, Fossil sunnies for $15, nice jackets for $9.99 and even some at a garage sale for $3 (Banana Republic and Guess). Slightly worn but still looks good:)
Trying my best to cook and stuff now also. Wat with no convenient Bao Long around to ta pau everyday from. haha... but it's nice tho. there's a Chinese shop I can ta pau from. the avg meal costs about $8 but the serving's so huge I can easily split into 2 meals. which is just great for frugal me:) Thank goodness that servings here are so large that they can last you for at least 2 meals:)))
